Teaching staff who do not have a dedicated desk phone can use a Virtual User account. They can have calls transferred to their Virtual User extension number, or routed directly via their DDI, allowing callers to leave a voicemail message. The staff member will then receive an email, which can be a notification of the new voicemail, has the voicemail attached as file, or offers the ability to click on a URL for message playback. Using their standard laptop or PC (requires speakers) the staff member can play, rewind and fast forward the message. This feature avoids staff having to find a phone and dial into voicemail at break times.
A Virtual User also has the ability to forward their Virtual number to an alternative location e.g. mobile phone. This is ideal for staff on the move around the campus or for teachers on school excursions. This allows them to be contacted by Parents and internal staff alike, without the need to publish their mobile number.
